2016 Klondike Derby recap

Posted on Feb 12 2016 - 2:43am

The 2016 Klondike Derby was held this past weekend at Woodruff Scout Camp.  The weather was just cold enough to give everyone a winter reminder, but warmed up for the daytime activities.  A special thank you goes out to Troop 525 for conducting the opening and closing flag ceremonies and to Troop 608 for leading Sunday morning’s Scouts Own Interfaith Worship service.
It was great to see all the Patrols come out and participate.  There were 16 Patrols from nine Troops competing for gold on Saturday.  The campfire featured skits from four Troops and awards from all of the Town Mayors.
Sunday morning’s sled race was won by the Troop 525 Moo Kill Patrol  – Congratulations guys!
The top three Patrols, overall, for the Saturday gold rush activities were:  3rd place - Troop 419 Spartoose; 2nd place - Troop 650 Flaming Arrows and 1st place - Troop 846 Woodsmen. Congratulations to each of these Troops and Patrols.
