Don't Forget to Complete your Unit Recharter before Thanksgiving!

Recharter packets and codes are available now. Jim Gilpatrick will be leading the process again this year, contact him at gilpatrick@inwaynet.com with questions. Don't forget JTE scorecards and annual charter agreements when turning in your recharter.  Recharter Turn In (Choose One) Saturday, November 10 at 9 am‪ at Simpsonwood United Methodist Church Family Center OR ‪Tuesday, November 13 at 7:30 pm‪ at Christ the King Lutheran Church (November Roundtable will be held this night due to Thanksgiving). The attached file contains a "cheat sheet" of instructions for rechartering.

Special Hornaday Conservation Program for Scouts

Scouts should register now for a weekend dedicated to conservation and learning, while working toward earning the William T. Hornaday Awards. Scouts will have the opportunity to earn up to 4 merit badges from 18 Hornady Award merit badges being offered (including all 6 required merit badges). Early bird registration lasts through May 31st and costs $75 and includes al meals, a patch and a T-shirt. District Nominations

Each year the Button Gwinnett District has the responsibility of finding, nominating and electing new district leaders. A nominating committee is formed and charged with this responsibility. The committee will be selecting an individual to fill the District Chairperson position along with Vice
Chairs representing such areas the Finance, Member and Program. They will also form a list of individuals to serve in other district positions and will recommend these individuals to the District Chairman. These positions are: Finance Chairperson, Membership Chairperson and Program Chairperson. In addition, the committee will be recommending the District Commissioner to the Atlanta Area Council.

The Committee will be accepting names for consideration for the above positions until October 23, 2018. Nominations cannot be accepted after this time. All nominations must be written. You may submit those via email to china_belnaps@yahoo.com or mail to: 655 Wintergate Court, Johns Creek, GA 30022, attention Button Gwinnett District Nominations, c/o Michelle Belnap.

Members must be present at the November 6, 2018 annual business meeting to cast their vote. The meeting with be held at the Christ the King Lutheran Church, 5575 Peachtree Parkway, Peachtree Corners, GA 30092 at 7:00 p.m. Those eligible to vote include COR's, District Members at Large, Council Members at Large residing in the District.

Spooky-ree is a fall themed weekend filled with a fall festival, creepy-crawly nature show, pumpkin carving and decorating, archery, BBs, s'mores, and a campfire. The highlight of the weekend is the Trick-or-Treating Trail for all Scouts and an extra spooky haunted trail for the older Scouts and adults. Bring out the whole family. Cub and Scout Leader Training "Super Saturday" - Sept 22 - LDS Church, Peachtree Corners

EVERY SCOUT DESERVES A TRAINED LEADER

This is a terrific opportunity to get all Cub and Scout leaders, trained as we start the new school year—especially NEW leaders. The Cub training will provide Cubmasters and other Cub Scout Leaders with the basic information and tools they need to lead successful Cub Scout Packs.  The Scout training will do the same for Scout Troop leaders. The new Youth Protection Training will be offered at 8am with the Cub Leader and Scout Leader training provided from 9am-1pm. Please invite all of your unit leaders to attend. Cost is $5.
