As an FYI, we have had three Cub recruiting events (Simpson, Peachtree, and Stripling), and we already have 100 new Cubs signed up!!!

This is definitely exciting news, but if you are a Cub leader, we also want to be sure you are prepared.  If your Cub event is coming up, let us know and we can make sure you have some additional resources to help with signup, and we can work with you and the council to make sure you have all the books, applications, flyers, and slime you need to make your recruiting event a big success.   Covid is (hopefully) winding down, and there is alot of excitement about getting back to Scouting.   If you need assistance, contact Howard at hjetmundsen@spectrola.com or Wendy Nelson at Wendy.Nelson@scouting.org.  Let's make this a terrific recruiting year! 

Button Gwinnett is working diligently to improve our connection to the Hispanic community.  We are seeing a large turnout of Spanish speakers, especially in Cub recruiting.  If you speak Spanish, or if you know someone that does, please let us know.  We have needs both for people who want to help run the program, but we also have needs for people who can translate fliers, take a phone call from a parent, or support a sign up night for Cub Scouts.  If you think you can help, please contact Howard Jetmundsen at hjetmundsen@spectrola.com or by phone at 678-517-5354.  This is a very exciting opportunity that we don't want to miss.

After a little break for the summer, we will resume District Committee meetings starting this coming Tuesday August 3rd at 7 PM.  For now, we will do a Zoom call, but we will be looking to have an in-person option soon.  We don't publish the Zoom link on the website, but if you would like to attend, email Howard Jetmundsen at hjetmundsen@spectrola.com and you can easily be added to the list.  This week, we will be talking about cub recruiting and kicking off the new scouting year.
